Chivo’s official guide describes it from the sender’s side:

1. 1The sender opens their Chivo Wallet.
2. 2They scan your QR code or enter your wallet’s Bitcoin address.
3. 3Wait a moment for the transaction to confirm.
4. 4Once confirmed, the amount shows in your Chivo Wallet within minutes.

Yes. Chivo says it works with other on-chain Bitcoin wallets and the Lightning Network. You need to be a registered user and share your Bitcoin address or QR code:

1. 1Give the sender your Bitcoin address or QR code from Chivo.
2. 2Choose whether to keep it as Bitcoin or auto-convert it to dollars.
3. 3Wait for the transaction to confirm — then the amount appears in your wallet.

Sending from an outside wallet pays the Bitcoin network fee (charged by the network, not by Chivo), according to Chivo’s FAQ.

Chivo has an “automatic convertibility” setting that converts incoming transactions to Bitcoin or dollars as you decide, or not at all. You’ll find it under Profile & Settings (Perfil y Ajustes).

Chivo lists two ways:

The current Terms (June 2026) set these processing times:

• Dollarsup to 5 business days
• Bitcoinup to 10 business days
• High demand / congestionup to 30 business days, with prior notice

Older Chivo help pages say bank withdrawals arrive “immediately”; the 2026 Terms are the current rule.

Chivo’s FAQ says sending and receiving between Chivo users and converting BTC↔USD are free. But since May 2026 the new private operator is allowed to charge end-user fees.

Check the fee shown in the app before confirming any transaction.

• A smartphone with internet.
• A Salvadoran DUI or passport — current or expired.
• A valid phone number (it doesn’t have to be Salvadoran).
• The 2026 Terms also require a personal e-mail address and personal mobile number, and may include extra identity checks.

Reset it from “Perfil - Ajustes”, or from the start screen before logging in. You need access to your phone number and to validate your identity.

Same number on a new phone: log in with your details plus the SMS code. If you no longer have the number, Chivo says to contact customer service so an operator can change it.

Send a request to soporte@chivowallet.com. Keep your ID, address and occupation up to date first; the balance is paid to an account in your name.
